Pole survey PDA · prototype v0.1 · 2026-09-19 — first version, on a real network and real drives

The poles to be captured are loaded onto the map before the drive. Once the cameras have a good enough view of a pole, it disappears from the map. Whatever is still on the map is still to do.

When a pole disappears

At least 8 frames (~0.5 s at 15 fps) with the pole inside a camera's field of view,
and at least once within 20 m, otherwise the image is too small.
Seen only from far away or too briefly: partial, the car has to go back.

What is real and what is simulated. Real: the pole positions along the route (from our own survey), the road network, the GPS tracks of 8 GoPro drives, and all 1,039 frames of the 2026-09-09 drive with the detector's hits. Simulated: the car moving along the planned route, and the RTK indicator. In this demo the camera's field of view stands in for recognition. In production a pole disappears only when the detector has also found it in the expected direction.
